BAA Psychology in Progress

perception, memory, visual attention capture

I am a motorcyclist and a driving instructor; I came to psychology because of my interest in traffic. My interests are mainly in cognitive psychology, and I am much happier in a lab running research or reading journal articles than in the classroom writing exams. I am especially interested in the human factors that contribute to collisions and am currently involved in research that examines the attentional and perceptual contributions to motorcycle collisions at intersections. I plan to pursue an academic career in psychology and to continue researching traffic.
